Topolcianky, le compte à rebours est lancé

The countdown for the FEI World Driving Championships for Horse Pairs in Topoľčianky, Slovakia, has started. The wonderful site of the National Stud Farm will host the 16th edition of these exciting World Championships from 28th August to 1st September 2013. Par Cindy Timmer
The Topoľčianky Stud Farm has a large tradition in carriage driving. Topoľčianky has hosted several national and international combined driving competitions since 2003 and was also the stage of the Slovak National Championships several times. Slovak top drivers Pavol Gaspar and Miroslav Matuska are based on the National Stud Farm and have successfully represented Slovakia many times in the past years at FEI World Four-in-hand, Pair and Singles Driving Championships.
The National Stud Farm in Topoľčianky is known as being one of the most important breeding centers in all of Europe. It is the national center for the breeding and cultivation of horses in Slovakia. It has been approved as a center for recording the breeding books of the Lipizzaner, Hucul, Shagya Arab and Arab. The center maintains the central records of horses in Slovakia and is the only institution allowed to issue certificates on the provenance of all accepted horse breeds in Slovakia. The National Stud Farm is an active member of all major European and international breeding organizations.
Excellent competition conditions
The site of the National Stud Farm in Topoľčianky offers excellent conditions for a successful World Championship. The dressage and obstacle driving competitions will take place at the race course on a wonderful grass arena. The arena will be surrounded by stands which offers the spectators the perfect place to closely follow the performances of the competitors and their horses.
The eight spectacular marathon obstacles are situated close to each other at the centre of the race course so the spectators can enjoy the driving sport at its highest level from closeby. Several culinary choices and a number of tradestands will complete the attractive competition site.
